Preventative Maintenance

The premises teams manage the sites on a day-to-day basis and escalate to the Head of Estates, Head teacher or COO any issue that requires additional maintenance funding.

The Head of Estates, with the CFO ensure sufficient funding is available to manage the above statutory compliance checks as well as any other minor repairs and maintenance required for schools.

Site issues are brought to the attention of the premises team, by staff members, by utilising the helpdesk function. These are dealt with internally by school premises staff, or if necessary, contracted to local, qualified contractors. High tariff issues are escalated to the Head of Estates and included on the capital development plan.

Premises staff also have a programme of small works, including decorating, minor preventive repairs and external works that is predominantly completed during the school holidays.

For any works that are outsourced to local contractors, due diligence is undertaken and contractor checklists completed to ensure that DBS checks, adequate insurance provision and the correct qualifications and/or accreditation is held by the company prior to commissioning any works.
